• Caption: CL&N tracks crossing Court Street, looking south from the former entrance to the Broadway Commons parking lot. Proctor and Gamble's downtown headquarters is at the top left. This crossing was the site of many battles between the city and the early CL&N, as this was the main access to Gilbert Avenue, the busiest street northeast out of downtown. There were fears about runaway trains coming down the hill and crashing into crossing horsecars and cable cars, as well as the multitude of pedestrians and wagons that used to funnel through here. This crossing has been obliterated by construction of the new casino.
