IR&T - Interurban Railway & Terminal Company
0002_b37_f50_n003
Historic photo of the CG&P on Kellogg Avenue in Columbia-Tusculum, looking southeast from Congress Avenue. Kellogg used to end at Congress Avenue, and there was a building directly in line with this side of Kellogg behind the vantage point of this photo. Thus, the track had to swing to the right to go around that building onto a short one-block private right-of-way for the track to get to Stanley from this point. The IR&T originally ran here to Stanley after removal of the Donham Avenue Viaduct in 1917, sharing tracks with the CG&P. It appears that the original street may actually have been to the right of the tracks and pole line, since there is a second line of poles with street lights. Perhaps that area was impassible for other vehicles due to the tracks and their eventual removal. From the University of Cincinnati Library Digital Resource Commons, Street Construction and Improvements collection.
