NYC/CCC&St. L - New York Central/Big Four, CIND Subdivision - Indiana & Ohio, CIND Subdivision

Historic photo of the CL&A freight car at the terminal at Anderson Ferry Road in approximately 1921. This was a second-hand car purchased from the Chicago & West Towns Railway after the 1915 power house explosion and carban fire. After new lightweight cars were purchased in 1918 this one was modified to remove the center section, leaving room for two Cincinnati Motor Terminals trailers, while the motorman's cabs on each end remained enclosed for protection from the weather. The two tracks in the foreground are for the Big Four railroad, showing just how closely these companies operated to one another.
