By the time this photo was taken there had been over a decade of interurban abandonments, in many cases to facilitate street widening like this. However, since the C&LE was newly formed and very much under operation at this time, the tracks were rebuilt in the middle of the street even though the original side of the road right-of-way was removed to make the street wider.
