Seneca Street dead-ends just past Ononta Avenue in Columbia/Tusculum, looking south. The barricade hides what was once an access to Columbia Parkway. Since it was built in the 1930's, there were no ramps as we're accustomed to today. This road went down the hill to the west, roughly parallel to Columbia Parkway, making a sharp turn at the bottom to intersect at roughly a 90° angle, similar to the way Audubon Street or Kemper Lane connect to the eastbound lanes from below today. A dangerous situation with the speeds at which Columbia Parkway operates today, it's no surprise this ramp was closed. Other abandoned access roads exist at Collins Avenue, Torrence Road, Stites Avenue, and Tusculum Avenue.
