Street Lights, Poles, & Traffic Signals
0059_DSC_3307
Two old traffic signals at the intersection of Sherman and Allison in Norwood. These are both Crouse-Hinds signals, the one on the right is a fairly typical Type D from the 1940's, but the one on the left is an original Type T from between 1926 and 1929. There were a lot of Crouse-Hinds signals in Norwood and a few scattered about in other areas outside the Cincinnati City limits. Apparently Cincinnati didn't use the Crouse-Hinds signals as much, nor did they ever use 4-ways like these. These have unfortunately been replaced, and despite their historical significance, it's not known what happened to them.
